Auger Hollingsworth Accident & Injury Lawyers is hiring a Communications and Outside Marketing Specialist to execute all off-line marketing initiatives. The Communications and Outside Marketing Specialist must be outgoing, execute with a "hands-on" approach and demonstrate an “anything can be done” attitude. The successful candidate will ideally live in Eastern Ontario and be able to travel to work in both of our Ottawa and Toronto offices. Although this is an active role in the community, some remote work will be permitted. The successful candidate must have some relevant work experience and university degree(s).

What you’ll do:

Create content for email and social media campaigns directed at both current and prospective customers. This includes 

  • Gathering existing content from recent blog posts and sales campaigns
  • Assembling content into a cohesive and compelling email messaging
  • Writing and creating graphics for social media posts
  • Testing email campaigns before scheduling
  • Scheduling email campaigns and social media posts.

You’ll also coordinate regular webinars for sales and educational purposes, as well as our annual online and in- person training conference. This includes:

  • Planning the schedule of webinars.
  • Coordinating stakeholders (speakers, venues, suppliers, etc.)
  • Requesting/reviewing descriptions of each webinar.
  • Configuring each event on the webinar platform.
  • Requesting/reviewing relevant polling questions.
  • Setting up the professional development credits system.
  • Coordinating staff to answer questions received during the webinar.
  • Producing the webinar during the event, including reading and launching polling questions.
  • You will also provide support where required to gather promotional materials and coordinate our presence at trade show events and conferences we attend.

Job requirements

What you’ll bring:

• Experience coordinating events, both virtual and in-person.

• Experience executing social media and email campaigns.

• Marketing writing experience.

• Top-notch organizational skills.

• Bachelor's degree in business, writing, or related field.

• Some related work experience.


Examples of Projects:

Business and Referral Relationship Development

• Develop and execute strategies that drive new clients to the firm, including referral relationships and community publicity.

• Research and communicate with potential referral sources through lawyer events, lawyer publications, health professionals and other professionals who service injured people in the community.

• Support all firm members in the management of their contact networks, including staying top-of-mind with key contacts.


Organize Speaking/Podcast/”Talk Show” Opportunities for firm lawyers

• Research and co-ordinate speaking and panel opportunities for the firm’s lawyers.

• Manage the logistics of all speaking engagements in Ontario (supplying marketing collateral, logos, booth materials, promotional items, lawyer attendance).

• Manage the execution of firm seminars, webinars and events in the community.


Event Planning

• Planning and execution of firm events which will bring visibility in the community while at the same time contributing to the community.

• Research and plan local community and charity events that firm members can participate in.

• Plan and organize community fundraising events.


Lawyer/Firm Awards and Publicity

• Manage, monitor and organize materials and timelines for firm lawyer award submissions as well as promoting and publicizing any resulting awards.

• Draft award and publication submissions.


Content and Collateral

• Develop and deliver external marketing and communications publications and releases, including the firm monthly print newsletter and press releases.

• Communications and writing to position the law firm within relevant publications and professional associations.

• Recruit and manage excellent professional videography and editing talent for all firm video marketing initiatives, including TV commercials.


Email Marketing

• Oversee the firm’s email marketing initiative, including campaign management and reporting.

• Monitor e-mail campaign success rates and website analytics using and grow the firm database list.


Community Off-Line Media and Advertising Management

• Coordinate and negotiate firm advertising campaigns and placements, including TV, Radio, Billboards etc.

• Develop relationships with local journalists in order to obtain publicity in local media.

  • Ability to recruit and hire “A Player” marketing sub-specialists and vendors.
