The Opportunity
ApexRMS is seeking a Finance and Operations Manager to take ownership of our internal financial operations and help position the company for long-term, scalable growth. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on individual to step into a broad and impactful role at the heart of a dynamic, mission-driven organization. Reporting directly to the fractional CFO, the Finance and Operations Manager will serve as a trusted supporter and partner, enabling the CFO and CEO to focus on high-level initiatives and business development. You'll work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to oversee and enhance day-to-day operations and finances.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Responsibilities:
Create and maintain financial reports, including cash flow, income statements, and balance sheets.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoice preparation, billing, and payments.
Ensure compliance with CRA regulations, financial regulations, and internal policies.
Administer payroll using Dayforce and manage employee benefits, liaising with external providers as needed.
Review and approve all company expenses.
Support government funding applications (e.g., internships, grants, and other financial programs).
Operations Responsibilities:
Oversee and improve day-to-day internal operations, including workflows across HR, IT, administration, and marketing.
Provide administrative support to the CFO, CEO, and leadership team, ensuring consistent communication across departments.
Lead project administration processes from initiation to completion, including documentation and archiving.
Job requirements
Experience & Background
At least 3 years of financial and administrative support experience, ideally within a growing organization or consulting environment.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budget management, and internal operations.
Background in finance or accounting.
Experience managing company tools and workflows, particularly Excel and Quickbooks.
Skills & Traits
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
Excel-proficient, including basic to intermediate functions and comfortable working with custom-built templates.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with remote and cross-functional teams.
A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and thrives in a "take charge" role.
Passionate about sustainability and environmental decision-making.
