Frequentis Canada based in Gatineau, Quebec, is looking for a dynamic individual to join our well-established team as Integration Technologist. As part of our team, you will be required to provide a wide variety of technical services ranging from the assembly, integration, test, diagnostic and repair of Frequentis products. You will perform a variety of tests including incoming inspections and factory testing of state-of-the-art embedded components.


You have sound electronics skills and a comprehensive knowledge of systems architecture, diagnostics and repairs. You must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and capable of exercising sound decision making. You must possess good communication skills (clear English is a must). You are a team player and are open to learning new skills and consult colleagues when uncertain.


The position is based in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada and is open to Canadian Citizens, Canadian Permanent Residents and Foreign Workers that hold a valid Canadian Work Permit.


Key Tasks

  • Assemble, integrate, configure, and test voice communication switching system for the air traffic management industry

  • Install and configure system software

  • Perform factory acceptance test functions and system checkout

  • Perform factory testing of components and raw material

  • Generate reports

  • Provide technical support to internal departments

  • Assist in the development of technical projects

  • Assist with packing system units post successful tests and checkout

  • Any other duties and responsibilities as required.

Job requirements

  • College technologist degree or equivalent

  • 1-2 years experience in communications systems

  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems diagnostics and repairs

  • Proficient in the use of test equipment (analog, digital, IP, e.g. Wireshark, EPROM programmers, etc.)

  • Excellent electronics skills and ability to read and understand electronic schematics

  • Excellent English communications skills (written, spoken)

  • Ability to think analytically and strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Mechanical skills such as soldering, cable engineering, crimping, etc.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a peer team


Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of VoIP telephony products and protocols (SIP, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Wireshark, etc.)

  • Knowledge of analog and digital telephony protocols (FXS/FXO, T1, E1, ISDN, etc.)

  • Knowledge of IP networking, switching and routing

  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems

  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms / VMWare

  • Bilingual (French and English) and other spoken languages will be considered an asset
