Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Lab Technician with experience supporting development and testing of ST 2110-based AV-over-IP systems, including SmartNICs, gateway boxes, and FPGA SoC-based platforms. This role supports engineering teams in setting up, validating, and maintaining complex lab environments that span from baseband SDI/HDMI to high-speed Ethernet interfaces for IP-based media transport. This is an on-site role ideal for someone passionate about modern media workflows, real-time AV systems, and the convergence of broadcast and IP technologies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assemble, configure, and maintain lab infrastructure including FPGA development boards, gateway boxes, SDI/HDMI input sources, and 25G/100G SmartNICs.
Set up and test SMPTE ST 2110-based AV flows over IP including uncompressed video, audio, and ancillary data.
Monitor and validate synchronization using PTP (ST 2059-2) and time alignment tools.
Work with test instruments (e.g., Phabrix, Telestream, Tektronix, Wireshark, EBULIST) to capture, analyze, and troubleshoot stream integrity and compliance.
Assist engineers in performing stress tests, latency measurements, jitter analysis, and bandwidth profiling on SmartNICs.
Maintain proper inventory and version tracking of boards, mezzanine cards, reference platforms, power supplies, and accessories.
Provide first-level support for reproducing hardware/software integration issues seen in lab.
Job requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
5-8 years of experience in a hardware test lab or systems integration role.
Understanding of baseband and IP interfaces for professional video and audio.
Familiarity with SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2059, or strong fundamentals in general AV-over-IP principles.
Experience with SDI/HDMI signal workflows, test pattern generators, and video/audio analyzers.
Familiarity with the FPGA and SoC platforms
Working knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems, including bootloaders, drivers, and shell scripting.
Comfortable with Ethernet networking concepts, especially multicast, IGMP, and PTP timing.
Domain knowledge in Pro-AV/Broadcast or Imaging solutions is a plus
