Frequentis Canada based in Gatineau, Quebec, is looking for a dynamic individual to join our well-established team as Web/Platform Software Developer. As part of our team, you will design, develop and maintain products used in Air Traffic Management communication systems. Some of the duties will include designing software components that must comply with high availability requirements, real-time constraints and ease of use.
The position is based in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada and is open to Canadian Citizens, Canadian Permanent Residents and Foreign Workers that hold a valid Canadian Work Permit.
Key Tasks
Designing, implementing, maintaining, documenting and verifying software modules, in accordance with the specific development process and software requirements
Analyzing and troubleshooting network and system components
Analyzing problem reports to identify software errors
Designing and implementing software testing plans, documenting the outcome including error analysis
System Release support - Creating the release packages, install and test, client support
Performing tasks in time, quality and budget
Job requirements
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering or equivalent
2-5 years of software development experience
Object Oriented, N-Tier Architecture
Languages: C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PowerShell
Scripting Languages: Bash, Python
Version Control Systems: Subversion (SVN) or equivalent experience
Operating Systems: Linux and Windows
CICD : Jenkins pipelines, Binary management (Nexus/Artifactory)
Network management (VLAN, port management, switch configuration)
Microsoft Technologies: IIS, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, SignalR, Visual Studio
Databases (PostgreSQL) and ORMs (Object Relational Mapping) (e.g: Entity Framework or Hibernate) integration.
Design (UML, Sequence Diagrams, Visio)
Project tools (Work tracking (Jira), Code Reviews (Smartbear – Code Collaborator))
Bilingualism (English and French) will be considered an asset.
Nice to haves:
Operating Systems CentOS Linux experience is a big plus
Operating Systems Windows System Events, Domain Controller and DNS/DHCP is a big plus
Zabbix, Splunk, Virtual Machine (VMWare, VSphere), Antivirus, Certificates and Licensing, and SNMP knowledge is a plus
Microservices: Docker, Containers
Networking protocols and tools: TCP, UDP, RTP, SIP, Wireshark
Unit Testing Tools: NUnit, JUnit, Karma
