Job Summary:

As a Value-Added Distributor (VAD), Macnica Americas purchases parts from suppliers, manages inventory, and delivers products and solutions to customers across the Americas. This role focuses on developing sales for semiconductor products and solutions, managing order entry and maintenance, and building long-term relationships with customers in our core vertical markets: Robotics, Medical, Mobility, Pro AV & Broadcast, and Aerospace.

The Sales Development Representative plays a key role in supporting account development, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, acting as the link between suppliers, customers, and our sales leadership team.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Order Processing

  • Handle quotes, customer forecasts, and sales orders (S/Os); book orders accurately.

  • Manage order tracking, expediting, cancellations, invoicing, credit issues, RMAs, and problem resolution.

Forecast & Supply Chain Management

  • Create and maintain accurate spreadsheets with customer and supplier forecasts/orders.

  • Oversee monthly supply chain/pipeline using MRP systems.

  • Ensure accuracy in pricing, part numbers, quantities, and T&Cs to prevent entry errors.

  • Set up new accounts and coordinate required credit applications for internal and external setup.

Process Management

  • Provide timely reports and updates on action items, data input, daily activities, goals, issues, and solutions.

  • Organize backup support during absences and ensure continuity of service.

Customer & Supplier Communication

  • Monitor and respond to customer requirements, including order fulfillment, expediting, changes, and cancellations.

  • Act as a primary contact for day-to-day business needs.

RFQ & Pricing Negotiation

  • Process RFQs, negotiate costs and resale prices, and manage part numbers and account setups.

  • Explain gross profitability and negotiate pricing for new designs and cost reductions.

  • Develop organized spreadsheets for tracking customer names, part numbers, costs/resale prices, GP%, proposed future costs, and cost-down structures.

Quality Operations

  • Manage supplier PCNs and communicate with customers.

  • Coordinate pre- and post-PCN supply chain management, including IPP tag operations.

Account Development

  • Work closely with Sales Leadership to proactively call and develop accounts.

  • Follow up on leads generated by tradeshows, events, and web inquiries.

  • Support opportunities within targeted vertical markets to align with Macnica’s growth strategy.

Job requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3–5 years in a similar Inside Sales, Customer Service, or Operations role.

  • Experience in the semiconductor or electronics distribution industry.

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor demand/supply cycles.

  • Experience with contract renewals, negotiation, and lifecycle management.

  • Familiarity with Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) and QCDD (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development) methodologies.

  • Proficiency in Excel (formulas, formats, pivot tables), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, web portals, EDI, and email platforms.

  • Familiarity with Oracle, SAP, AS400, QuickBooks, or equivalent ERP systems.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English required; Japanese language skills a plus).

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Some college experience or work equivalent in related field

Compensation:

  • Range from $60k - $72K

  • The compensation range can vary based on location and can be discussed with recruiter
